2017 Ford Focus RS - Big Turbo 450WHP Daily

About This Build

The 2.3 EcoBoost in the RS is a beast of an engine. Ford conservatively tuned it from factory but with supporting mods, it can make serious power reliably. Started with full bolt-ons - Mountune intake and intercooler, COBB downpipe, Ford Performance exhaust. With a Stratified tune, made 380whp - a nice bump but wanted more. Went with the Garrett G25-660 turbo kit from ATP. It's a direct fit and spools almost as fast as stock while making way more top end. Currently at 450whp on 93 octane with E30 content. The key to reliability on these is the upgraded low pressure fuel pump and aux fuel system. Running a Radium fuel surge tank with twin 450 pumps. Also upgraded to 2000cc port injectors for E85 capability. Drivetrain is beefed up - Quaife LSD in front, fresh PTU fluid every 15k miles. The AWD system handles the power well but the PTU is the weak point if you don't maintain it. KW V3 coilovers transformed the already-good chassis. Running 19" Konig Ampliform with 265 square tires. The RS is the ultimate daily - practical, comfortable, and faster than most sports cars.
