About This Build

The goal was simple: make reliable power that I can drive every day without worrying. The FA20DIT responds great to mods but you HAVE to do supporting mods and get a proper tune. Started with the Grimmspeed Stage 2 power package - TMIC, j-pipe, charge pipe, intake. This combo works together and makes the turbo much more efficient. The stock TMIC heat soaks badly, so this was priority #1. Got tuned by Torqued Performance on their dyno - 347whp and 380wtq on 93 octane with a conservative tune. Could make more but I wanted reliability and safety margin. The car pulls hard from 3500rpm all the way to redline now. Also did the Perrin pitch stop mount, Group N trans mount, and Kartboy short throw - completely transformed the driving feel. The stock mounts allow too much engine movement. Running this setup for 25k miles now with zero issues. Oil changed every 3500 miles with Motul X-cess, caught up on Subaru's valve spring recall. This is how you build a reliable WRX.
