2022 BMW M3 G80 Competition - S58 Powerhouse
2022 BMW M3 (Competition xDrive)
About This Build
The BMW S58 engine in the G80 M3 Competition is an absolute monster waiting to be unleashed. With factory twin turbos, forged internals from the factory, and BMW's proven inline-6 architecture, this platform responds incredibly well to bolt-on modifications. This build uses catless downpipes from VRSF, a Wagner Tuning intercooler upgrade, and a BM3 tune from ProTuningFreaks to push past 650WHP — all without opening the engine. The S58 has proven to handle 700+ WHP on stock internals, making this a safe and reliable build. ## Mod List **Exhaust:** - VRSF S58 Catless Downpipes — $1,100 (https://www.vfracing.com) - Eisenmann Race Exhaust System — $3,200 (https://www.eisenmann.com) **Cooling:** - Wagner Tuning Competition Intercooler — $1,800 (https://www.wagnertuning.com) - CSF High-Performance Charge Cooler — $850 (https://www.csfrace.com) **Intake:** - Eventuri Carbon Fiber Intake System — $1,200 (https://www.eventuri.net) **Tuning:** - bootmod3 (BM3) Tuning License — $600 (https://www.protuningfreaks.com) - Custom Dyno Tune (Stage 2+) — $1,000 **Fueling:** - PI Motorsports Port Injection Kit — $2,800 (https://www.pi-motorsports.com) **Drivetrain:** - None required — ZF 8-speed handles power well **Wheels & Tires:** - Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 275/35/19 front, 285/30/20 rear — $1,600 (https://www.michelinman.com) **Labor & Installation:** ~$3,000 ## Performance Results - 652 WHP / 590 WTQ on 93 octane - 0-60: 2.8 seconds (from 3.4 stock) - Quarter mile: 10.4 @ 135 mph ## Build Summary Total parts cost: $14,150. With labor, approximately $17,150. The S58 is one of the most tuner-friendly engines BMW has ever made. The forged crank, rods, and closed-deck block from factory mean these engines eat bolt-on power for breakfast. With xDrive putting power down efficiently, this build delivers supercar-killing performance from a four-door sedan.
