2023 Toyota GR86 - Turbo Track Weapon

2023 Toyota GR86 (Premium)

2023 Toyota GR86 - Turbo Track Weapon

About This Build

The second-gen GR86 with the FA24 2.4L flat-four fixed the biggest complaint about the original 86 — torque. But for those who want more, a turbo kit transforms this lightweight chassis into an absolute weapon. This build uses the Jackson Racing C38 supercharger kit — wait, actually we're going turbo here. The Edelbrock/Kraftwerks C30-94 supercharger is a proven solution, but for this build we chose the Full Blown Motorsports turbo kit with a Garrett G25-550 turbo, which pushes the FA24 to 380WHP on pump gas. Full Blown has been building turbo kits for Toyota/Subaru platforms for years and their engineering is top-notch. ## Mod List **Forced Induction:** - Full Blown Motorsports Turbo Kit (Garrett G25-550) for GR86/BRZ — $5,500 (https://www.full-blown.com) **Fueling:** - DeatschWerks DW300C Fuel Pump — $120 (https://www.deatschwerks.com) - DeatschWerks 1000cc Injectors (set of 4) — $400 (https://www.deatschwerks.com) **Exhaust:** - MagnaFlow Competition Series Catback — $900 (https://www.magnaflow.com) - GrimmSpeed Catted Downpipe — $650 (https://www.grimmspeed.com) **Cooling:** - GrimmSpeed Top Mount Intercooler — $800 (https://www.grimmspeed.com) - Mishimoto Oil Cooler Kit — $500 (https://www.mishimoto.com) **Tuning:** - EcuTek ProECU License + Bluetooth Dongle — $700 (https://www.ecutek.com) - Custom E-Tune by CounterSpace Garage — $500 (https://www.counterspacegarageshop.com) **Drivetrain:** - ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kit — $650 (https://www.advancedclutch.com) **Suspension:** - KW Coilovers V3 — $2,200 (https://www.kwsuspensions.net) **Labor & Installation:** ~$2,500 ## Performance Results - 382 WHP / 310 WTQ on 93 octane - 0-60: 3.8 seconds (from 5.4 stock) - Quarter mile: 11.8 @ 118 mph ## Build Summary Total parts cost: $12,920. With labor, approximately $15,420. The GR86 turbo build is all about the driving experience. At under 2,900 lbs with 380WHP, the power-to-weight ratio is insane. The Garrett G25-550 spools quickly thanks to the FA24's 2.4L displacement, virtually eliminating turbo lag. With KW V3 coilovers, this car is equally at home on track days and spirited mountain runs. The FA24 engine has proven robust with proper fueling and tuning at this power level.
